Cool Picture of Air Force Memorial
If you haven't already seen it, there's a cool picture of the Air Force Memorial on DCIst - I'm also always interested to hear people's comments on the memorial. Do you like it or hate it?

Hate it. Its an eyesore and I don't see myself ever liking it. Major detraction to our skyline.

I like that it's sort of an homage to the Washington Monument, so it fits OK, but it's pretty cold and uninspiring. I'd like to walk past it and stand under it before passing a final judgement, but can you do that? In that area I feel like if I stop my car I'll be added to a watch list or something. Which I know is not true, but speaks to how uninviting that area is.

For me, it's all about where I'm seeing it - from certain views, especially at night, I think it looks stunning. At other times, I think it looks clunky and too big. And I agree with Miles, it seems so intimidating to actually go up to - maybe I should do that and write an entry about it.
